INTERVIEW WITH SERGIO GARCIA DEL BOSQUE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF SEALE & ASSOCIATES
Transaction markets for buying and selling companies in Mexico and Latin America are still small compared to North America and Europe but with an upward trend in recent years, said Sergio García del Bosque. According to the director in Mexico of the international firm Seale & Associates, Latin American nations represent only 4% of the transactions of this type that are carried out all over the world.
¨It is an incipient market still compared with more developed powers; only the United States and Canada represent 48% of the entire world’s buying and selling market, the Mexican market is not very large, “he said.
For the specific case of Mexico, the historical tendency in mergers and acquisitions has been that multinational companies of foreign origin buy businesses in the country, although in recent years this has changed.
